(The Post News)- Humanitarian aid entering Gaza after long hours of delay by Israel, the trucks that were supposed to arrive in Gaza early morning for delivery were taken further South to be checked at Israeli checkpoints. Al Jazeera news reported that the aid was delayed because of internal Israeli politics; the IDF had to check the trucks to make sure that there were no weapons carried for Hamas.
Qatar and France helped in facilitating the deal and made an announcement in a statement. Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that the deal will see humanitarian aid delivered to civilians in the most affected and vulnerable areas in the Gaza Strip.

Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Dr Majad Al Ansari said in a Twitter statement that, “over the past few hours, medicine and aid entered the Gaza Strip, in implementation of the agreement announced yesterday for the benefit of civilians in the strip, including hostages.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in France also released a statement saying 45 Israeli captives will be receiving medicine for various chronic illnesses, and the medicine should last around three months. Meanwhile, Israeli attacks continued overnight, and 16 people were killed in Rafah, leaving many injured.
A Hamas senior official said that for every box provided for the hostages, 1,000 boxes of medicine were being sent in for Palestinians. The International Committee of the Red Cross is said to be the official body that is in charge of distributing the medical aid.
