The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin unapologetic says “no to Palestinian sovereign”. On Friday Netanyahu had a telephone call with US president Joe Biden regarding the two-state solution.
On Saturday, the prime minister wrote on X rejecting the call by US president. He wrote, “I will not compromise on full Israeli security control over all the territory West of Jordan- and this is contrary to a Palestinian state”. In a
comment to Netanyahu’s statement, the US president told reporters he believed Netanyahu could be convinced of some kind of two state solution.
Both Biden and Netanyahu face pressure back at home due to the war in Gaza which up to so far has claimed the lives of more than 25 100 Palestinians.
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, wrote on X, on Sunday, stating that, “the refusal to accept the two- state solution for Israeli and Palestinians, and the denial of the right to statehood for the Palestinian people, are unacceptable”.
Back in the US, lawmakers are growing anger at Netanyahu’s arrogance. Suzan Bohamici is a US congresswoman, “I condemn the remarks of prime minister and the rhetoric of Israel far- right government leader who want to deny Palestinians the right to a state”, she says.
