The community of Ka- Zitha village, Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, near Kruger National Park, embarked on service delivery protest early this morning, blockaded one of the busiest roads in the province. The road connects to R40 leading to the biggest mining industry, Foskor’s Mining Division in Phalaborwa which mines phosphate rock.
Ka-Zitha Residents Protest Lack of Water Supply
The community members of Ka-Zitha complain about the municipality halted water for almost a month without giving warning to the North- East areas. The municipality published a warning on its web page on the 20 November 2023, which didn’t make no mentioned to the affected areas.
The municipality is led by the African National Congress (ANC). Post 1994, the party is label with corruption. The party President Cyril Ramaphosa has acknowledged this on the ANC anniversary 112 celebration in Mbombela, Nelspruit early this month. Ramaphosa acknowledge that the ANC has made its own mistakes and that the party was working hard to fix those mistakes.
