Trump says he can end Russia- Ukraine war within 24 hours

Former US President Donald Trump says he can end Russia- Ukraine war in 24 hours or in a day. This statement shocked world leaders, including Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at Latvia, 11 January. Zelenskyy said he was worried at the prospect made by the former president returning to the White House.

Trump’s statement undermines the efforts that has been put so far to help Ukraine to liberate itself from Russia’s invasion. As who wins the election in the US matters to its international policies including Russia- Ukraine war. The US has been a major supply of modern military weapons to help Ukraine to defend itself against Russia’s aggression.

Trump, “Invite you to Ukraine to Kyiv. If you can stop the war for 24 hours, i think it will be enough to come”, said Zelenskyy. “Maybe Donald Trump really has some idea, a real idea, and he can share it with me” added Zelenskyy.

He is understood to be a close ally to Russian President Vladimir Putin and he is also seen as a man who is not interested in international politics.

During his last five-year term, he spent time focusing on US internal affairs rather global politics. His focus was to reduce the number of illegal immigrants entering the US.
