(The Post News)- President Cyril Ramaphosa and African National Congress (ANC) first Deputy Secretary- General, Nomvula Mokonyane attended the Football for Humanity Soccer Tournament in Cape Town, Athlone stadium, under the theme- peace, hope and solidarity.
The ANC said in a statement that the tournament was held as part of a continued support of the Palestinian cause. It further added that South African Football Association (SAFA) third division team will play against the Palestine National Football.
In her way to the stadium Mokonyane visited the home of a Gander Based Violence survivor in Khayelitsha, Western Cape. Mokonyane said she is committed to support the Maphasa family in their appeal of the 10 year sentence issued to the perpetrator for rape and attempted murder.
