Harris Underscores America’s Role in Defending Democracy
U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Vice President Kamala Harris and other NATO leaders, met at the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Vice President Harris delivered remarks on U.S. foreign policy, including reflecting on nearly two years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and America’s global role in supporting democracy.
Blinken spent all the week strengthened U.S. ties and coordination with U.S. counterparts. He also participated in a moderated discussion with India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on the importance of multilateral relationships.
Harris says America must stand strong for democracy. “We must stand in defense of international rules and norms, and we must stand with our allie”.
The Vice President further added that Ukraine have stand strong regardless Russian’s continued bombardment on civilian infrastructure. “The world has come together, with leadership from the United States, to defend the basic principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity and to stop an imperialist authoritarian from subjugating a free and democratic people. Make no mistake, Putin’s war has already been an utter failure for Russia,” Said Harris.
Following reports of Aleksey Navalny’s death in a Russian prison. Secretary Blinken said, if these reports bear out to be true, his death in a Russian prison and the fixation and fear of one man only underscores the weakness and rot at the heart of the system that Putin has built.
