(The Post News) Johannesburg -The migration of traditional news platforms from print to digital media is leading to a global decline in Ad spending revenue, bringing the sustainability of mainstream media into question. The arrival of disruptive artificial Intelligence-driven (AI) tool-sand, chat-bots will offer a faster and more intuitive way to access information. These changes which are likely to further reduce audience numbers for established news sites and put even more pressure on the bottom line.
BonafelaAI Unveils Innovative Technology to Transform News from Text to Video
To counter this, a local strategic technology development company, Bonafela AI, has designed and built a brand-new AI-driven tool called the ‘Stream Text to Video Use’, which converts the text on news articles into professional videos in real time. Founder and CEO of Bonafela, Jerry Matjila, says this innovative solution will make news media organisations more profitable when migrating to the internet. “The internet has made content freely available; therefore, Ad spending is declining, while monthly content subscriptions only seem to benefit a few.”
“So, it’s against this backdrop that we invite established media organizations in South Africa to try out our services which can stream live videos24/7 just like television broadcasting,” says Matjila, a development engineer. He says the Bonafela technology tool was one of the highlights in 2023 AI Expo Africa exhibition, Africa’s largest B2B AI Conference & Expo held annually in South Africa. The expo focuses on Africa’s Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)innovations and investments, which was held in November last year in Johannesburg.
“We can transform text to video using interactive AI solutions which allows viewers to have a conversation with any Generative AI person shown on video at any time during streaming just like two or more people having video call conversation over the internet,” Matjila said.
He told The South African that the conversation can be in any combination of text, images, voice, and video-to-video. “During conversion we provide sources of information to enhance viewer confidence that
they are receiving reliable, trusted, and truthful content,” he said. Matjila said customer benefits include improved website traffic, resulting in increased revenue and visitor engagement. Some of the features, he says, include instant notification of new news to loyal visitors.
