(The Post News)– Iran has urged Israel not to take unnecessary risks when trying to respond to its unprecedented aerial attack. The reason for this is that Iran launched a surprise attack on Israel on Saturday night. Even though no one was killed, a 10-year-old Bedouin girl was severely injured by shrapnel during an incident in the southern Arad region.
According to the report by Doug Faulkner, world leaders have urged restraint amid concerns about a major escalation in tensions in the Middle East. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a vow to win together after the attack, but it is unclear how his country intends to respond.
Last week, Israel’s defense and foreign ministers warned that in case Iran attacked Israel, Israel would take action within the country. After the attack on the Damascus consulate, which led to the death of seven officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an attack was anticipated.
Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi stated that if the Zionist regime in Israel or its supporters behave recklessly, they will be subjected to a decisive and much stronger response.
Iran’s IRGC, the most powerful branch of its armed forces, said, “It had launched the attack in retaliation against the Zionist regime’s repeated crimes against Israel, including the attack on the Iranian embassy’s consulate in Damascus.”
Based on the statement by Iranian armed forces chief of staff Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, the US had been warned via Switzerland that American backing of Israeli retaliation would result in US regional bases being targeted. The US was informed by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian that attacks against Israel would be limited and aimed at self-defense.
US President Joe Biden said to Mr. Netanyahu, “Following the launch of the Iranian attack, we reaffirmed America’s ironclad commitment to the security of Israel.” He then condemned the unprecedented attack on Israel and said that the US had helped Israel and other allies take down nearly all the missiles and drones. He mentioned that he will convene the leaders of the G7 to coordinate a united diplomatic response to Iran’s bold attack. Vanessa Frazier said that the UN Security Council will also hold an emergency meeting later with its president.
Secretary General António Guterres condemned the serious escalation of Iran’s large-scale attack on Israel in a statement.
He called for an immediate cessation of these hostilities and for all sides to exercise maximum restraint. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called the strikes reckless.
The European Union’s foreign affairs chief, Josep Borrell, said, “It was a grave threat to regional security. According to Doug Faulkner’s report, world leaders have called for restraint due to worries about a significant escalation in Middle East tensions.
However, on Sunday, April 14, France recommended its citizens temporarily leave the country due to the risk of military escalation.
