The death toll has since risen up to 18 people.
According to the Ukrainian military, the Russian forces launched 14 missiles, including over 30 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), in Ukraine. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 26.
The Russian forces continued to proceed to northeastern Ukraine following the crossing of the border at the beginning of this month, opening a new front in the two-year-old conflict.
Kharkiv has witnessed a spate of Russian offensives as Russia seeks to tie up Ukrainian forces elsewhere and create a buffer zone.
In a post on social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the strike a brutal strike and a brutal attack, arguing that Russia is ruled by men who want to make it a standard of making lives horrible for the citizens.

However, at least the remains of 10 people who lost their lives in the strike have been identified.
Ukraine’s Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko, argued that the hours following the strike were horrible.
He thanked those who helped put out the flames that engulfed the hardware store after the attack.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, is well aware that there is not a single military object close to the site of the attack.
Authorities in the south of Kherson region have notified residents to stay away from open spaces as there have been reports of explosions.
The opponent is attacking from the temporarily occupied left bank, Roman Mrochko, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, argued in a Telegram post on Sunday.
Citizens are warned to stay away from open areas, to protect themselves and their loved ones’ lives, as it’s still unknown where the next attack from Russia will be directed.
