(The Post News)- Real Madrid’s daring tactics secured their 15th UEFA Champions League title, as they triumphed once again with their daring style of play.
On Saturday night, June 1, Wembley Stadium welcomed the Champions League final. Borussia Dortmund was faced with the Cup’s defending champion, Real Madrid.
Renowned for their dramatic comebacks, Real Madrid once again demonstrated their knack for turning the tables on their opponents.
Just when Dortmund seemed to have them cornered, Madrid unleashed their high wire act, shattering the false narrative of the match and proving why they remain an unstoppable force in European football.
The first half of the game had Dortmund dominating the play. It’s strikers and middle field were promising, but Nicholas Fuellkrug failed to take the lead and hit a post.
Karim Adayemi also failed to convert two chances to open the scoring line for Dortmund.
In the second half, Real cut Dortmund’s stubbornness by netting in the 74th minute.
Deni Carvajal stumbled on the stubbornness by scoring from a corner kick taken by Toni Kroos. In less than 10 minutes, Junior Vicious, who has been a problem for Dortmund’s backline, makes it 2-nil from Jude Bellingham’s pass.
“My side deserved a little bit more but lacked killer instinct. Above all, in the first half, we had the feeling that we had them.
From the first second, we showed them that we’re here to win it,” said Dortmund coach Edin Terzic, speaking with ZDF Network in a post-match interview.
Ancelloti’s side never easily loses a Champions League final. For the first time this season (2023–24), they have never lost a single match in the competition.
Toni Kroos was playing his last game with the club, bringing down the curtain on a decade of masterfully controlling the midfield. He bids farewell in style, his boots adorned with a sixth Champions League title.
Real Madrid clinched the UEFA Champions League title with a commanding 2-0 victory, completing a remarkable double after securing La Liga earlier.
Carvajal’s stellar performance earned him the prestigious Player of the Match award.
Ancelotti concluded by saying, “You never get used to it, because it was difficult—so difficult, more than what we expected,” according to BeSoccer reports.
The club’s home, Santiago Bernabeu, had approximately 70,000 supporters. Celebrating the win for the Kings of Europe for their triumph over EUFA.
Next season, the club is expected to be unstoppable, as they have signed French superstar striker Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
