At the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast, Cape Verde fared better than expected, falling to South Africa in a penalty-filled match.
Cameroon and Libya both tied at seven points each, but Cameroon leads Group D on a goal differential.
Mauritius has one, Cape Verde has four, Angola has five, and Eswatini has none.
Cameroon will travel to Angola on Tuesday, June 11, for a potentially more difficult match the same day, Libya will play host to Cape Verde.
LA power struggle between the sports ministry and the football federation, led by former Barcelona and Inter Milan player Samuel Eto’o, had plagued the Cameroonian build-up.
