Heartfelt messages continue to pour in for rapper Shebeshxt and his family over their loss.
(The Post News)- South African rapper Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, better known by his stage name Shebeshxt, faces heartbreak and tragedy as news emerges of the untimely passing of his nine-year-old daughter in a fatal car accident.
The family of Shebeshxt has released a statement confirming that the rapper is still alive and in the hospital. However, they are mourning the loss of their young girl, whom they described as an angel who warmed everyone’s heart.
The incident occurred on Saturday night, June 8, on the R37 road adjacent to Smelters Mine in Limpopo.
In an exclusive interview with Sunday World, Shebeshxt’s mother Mpho Chauke has described her granddaughter as a bubbly, energetic and kind child.
According to Chauke, the young girl was traveling with her father and another passenger to Lebowakgomo to drop off Onthatile Chuene at her home.
After dropping them off, the rapper would have gone to perform at an ANC Siyanqoba Rally celebration concert Zone R Park in Lebowakgomo on Sunday.
The Volkswagen Polo carrying Shebeshxt and two other passengers collided with a truck, resulting in the vehicle overturning. While the rapper sustained serious injuries and was promptly attended to on the scene before being transported to the hospital, sadly, his daughter did not survive the accident.
Tidimalo Chuene, spokesperson for the transport department in Limpopo, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Sunday morning, expressing condolences to the family and friends of the young girl.
Chuene reported that the accident occurred shortly after 10 pm, with a charcoal Volkswagen Polo colliding with a heavy motor vehicle.
The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to ascertain its cause.
Distraught, Chauke said she believes her son is aware that his daughter is dead.
Initially, she did not want to reveal the news to her son, but in a conversation they had, Shebeshxt only mentioned his girlfriend, said Chauke.
This tragic incident marks the second serious car accident involving Shebeshxt this year.
In January, the rapper narrowly escaped unharmed from an accident that left his new Golf GTI severely damaged.
Social media platforms have been flooded with videos capturing the aftermath of the accident.
In one video, the lifeless body of the young girl lies covered beside the damaged Volkswagen Polo, while another depicts Shebeshxt receiving medical attention at one of Limpopo’s private hospital, he is said to have sustained a broken leg, abdominal fractures and head injuries.
Heartfelt messages of sympathy and support continue to pour in for Shebeshxt and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
