(The Post News)-The Kaizer Chiefs board of directors has been actively searching for a new head coach, attracting significant interest. Nasreddine Nabi, Benny McCarthy, and Sead Ramović have all publicly expressed their keen interest in coaching the Glamour Boys.
It has been reported that Nasreddine Nabi, the current coach for Moroccan club FAR Rabat, has been given the green light to coach Kaizer Chiefs. He will be allowed to take up the role provided he is released after their cup semi-final against MAS Fes, set to take place next month.
Soccer Laduma reported that Nasreddine Nabi’s current employers, Botola Pro giants FAR Rabat, have given the go-ahead for the Tunisian’s departure amid speculation linking him to Kaizer Chiefs.
The publication further reported that the reigning league champions, Nabi, and Kaizer Chiefs have all reached an agreement that will see the 58-year-old leave the nation’s capital once he has coached his final match of the 2023/24 campaign.
FAR Rabat and Nabi’s contract was set to expire in 2025. It is surprising that the club has given the coach the green light to leave before his term has ended.
“Come on Khosi4lyf, Nabi must arrive this time around please. No more experimenting with local coaches. No local coach has ever succeeded at Chiefs. Not that they are not good enough. The club is just too big and sophisticated for local coaches,” said Maphalu Nzima on X.
It has been years since the club last won significant trophies. The Glamour Boys exited the DStv Premiership Soccer League season 2023/24 in 10th position, unexpectedly failing to qualify for the top 8.
Amakhosi will only have the new coach and his technical team after July 15, following the upcoming semi-final where AS Rabat will face MAS Fes.
