(The Post News)- France Captain, Mbappe decided not to represent his home country in Thierry Henry’s French Olympics. The Olympic season starts on July 24 and the final is on August 9.
“For the Olympics, my club has a position which is very clear so that means I think I will not participate in the Olympics. That is how it is,” Mbappe told BeSoccer on Sunday,
June 16.
The 25-year-old has just signed with a Spanish club, Real Madrid, joining them on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappe had previously committed to representing his home country at the Olympics before considering a move to a new club. This decision also impacts his career at Inter Miami Club, with the American League set to commence in June.
“Joining a new team in September would not be the best way to begin my adventure,” said Mbappe.
Before Mbappe’s decision, last week we saw Lionel Messi also confirming that he would not participate in the upcoming men’s Olympics. Messi believes the Olympics will be hard at his age (36).
