(The Post News)- The Phefeni Glamour Boys, Kaizer Chiefs, have confirmed the release of three players: Sfiso Hlanti, Keagan Dolly, and Siyethemba Sithebe.
These players have now become free agents following the introduction of a new technical team at the club.
Keagan Dolly was the highest-paid forward at the club. Sfiso Hlanti had been promised an extension deal when his contract expired.
Siyethemba Sithebe joined the club in 2022 from AmaZulu FC.
This happens after the arrival of the first assistant coach, Fernando Da Cruz.
The trio, Keagan Dolly, Sfiso Hlanti, and Siyethemba Sithebe, have become free agents after the club confirmed their release.
More players are expected to be released as the club is still waiting for their proposed head coach, Nasreddine Nabi.
Along with a goalkeeper coach and a fitness coach following preparations for the 2024/25 season.
“The players were called earlier today and simply told their contracts were not being renewed. I suppose this is how the club is being run these days,” reported SABC Sport, as per their player representative asking for anonymity.
The source further expressed that it is not fair on the players who now have to look for employment over the next few days. He believes the approach could have been better.
New announcements are expected from the club’s technical team. Hlanti’s 2020 deal for an extension has fallen, and he is forced to look for employment.
With the team going in a different direction and new developments being made, Siyethemba Sithebe and Keagan Dolly are now free to talk with other clubs and start looking for new employment.
