(The Post News)- Mfundo Vilakazi took it to his Facebook account that he was no longer heading to France.
“My deal to Marseille has been cancelled due to a work permit. That means I remain a Khosi,” posted the attacking midfielder.
The Sowetan-born player was introduced to Kaizer Chiefs through promotion from Youth Development Academy in 2021.
Around April this year, the Glamour Boys extended his contract until 2028.
He is much of a delight to most Kaizer Chiefs fans started as a ball boy.
Mfundo is a naturally gifted player with a set of skills.
But he was hardly introduced to the pitch by the sacked coaches Cavin Johnson, Molefi Ntseki, and Arthur Zwane.
In most matches, he made six appearances as a substitute. He also played in the Soweto derby and the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 match against Orlando Pirates.
Naturena Sporting Director, Motaung Junior, expressed excitement about Mfundo’s return to the club, highlighting his happiness in retaining the attacking midfielder.
Motaung, speaking to Africa Top Sports, emphasized that Mfundo’s promotion shows the success of their development structures. He highlighted their commitment to nurturing talent for the senior team, reflecting Kaizer Chiefs’ core values.
“We have some hard-working people from Under-13 to the reserve side who do not focus purely on winning but mainly on producing top footballers for the senior team” reported the publication.
