(The Post News)- Fezile Mkhize, a South African native, was officially declared the Mister Supranational 2024 winner on Thursday, July 4, at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
The medical professional and television personality, 33, from Port Shepstone in KwaZulu Natal, emerged victorious among 36 contestants, securing a milestone win for South Africa.
He succeeds Iván Álvarez Guedes, the previous titleholder from Spain.
Casey De Vries from the Netherlands took the first runner-up position, while Brandon Espiritu of the Philippines, Marcos De Freitas of Venezuela, and Sanonh Maniphonh followed in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
The 2024 competition represented the 8th instalment of the Mister Supranational pageant. In a groundbreaking moment, the newly crowned titleholder from South Africa became the first black winner in the pageant’s history, breaking a significant barrier.
Earlier this year, in April, he was crowned Mister Supranational South Africa 2024 in Pretoria, a feat that came after his previous achievements as Mr World South Africa and first runner-up at Mr World 2019, setting the stage for his subsequent win on the international stage.
In his final query at the Mister Supranational 2024 finale, he reflected on his modest upbringing and the transformative impact of aspirations.
He revealed that his grandmother, a domestic worker, had longed for a desire for higher education, a dream he later realised by becoming a medical professional.
“Dreams never fade away unless we do. And if they’re powerful enough, they can outlast us, they will forever endure, that’s the enduring legacy of a dream,” he said.
