(The Post News)- Molemo Maarohanye popularly known as Jub Jub was accused of rape amongst other accusations in February 2022.
His ex-girlfriend alleged that these offences took place between the years 2006 and 2009.
She spoke out on the social media app previously known as Twitter now X and the three other women came out with similar allegations.
A warrant of arrest was issued for Maarahonye but he handed himself in to the police and appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court where his bail was set to R10 000.
The case has been ongoing for a period of one year.
He was charged with rape, two counts of attempted murder, and assault changes.
After a year of court proceedings,
“The NPA division followed careful consideration of the police case docket. The prosecutors report and recommendations complain that was made available to the NPA through representation submitted by defence to the office of the director of public prosecutions” said the NPA in a statement released on Thursday.
NPA regional spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said the office of the DPP concluded that there were no reasonable prospects of a successful prosecution.
As a result, the charges of rape attempted murder and assault against Maarohanye were withdrawn.

The withdrawal of these charges did not sit well with many organisations fighting gender-based violence.
Makhosazana Buthelezi, founder and director of Thato One Big Family LGBTQIA+ community, says that they are very deeply concerned by the withdrawal of the charges against Jub Jub.
She says it is disheartening that charges of rape, attempted murder and assault with not proceed to trial.
