(The Post News)- The first-ever African Football League 2023 and defending Dstv Premiership League 2023/24 championships, Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club announced their new head coach. The club seen an exit of coach Rhulani Mokoena and few technical members, including few talented players.
Today 06, June 2024, the club announced the signing of a new head coach, Steve Kompela. It surprisingly announced on its Facebook page the welcome of their ex-coach as a head coach, who will oversee the senior club with the assistance of Manqoba Mngqithi.
Komphela said, “I am very excited to be back at Mamelodi Sundowns where I was always inspired and treated with respect and love. I am committed to contributing to the Club achieving its goals in South Africa and on the African Continent,” reported the club on the it’s page.
Masandawana has been making news since the preparation of the pre-season matches. Signing Komphela back it was the least expected. The club has been full of surprises.
The fanbase is having different emotions on announcement post at Facebook. Some are welcoming the coach while others bash him.
“The maestro, the goat, the legendary coach.
I feel like the first time you were introduced. Welcome back Coach,” commented Mzimasi Ngqelu.
Khutso Wa Ga Chuene asked, “So what kind of message are you trying to send to us supporters, you want to tell us that Rhulani Mokoena was the reason why Steve Kompela left the team at first.” The question was asked because Komphela said he was told that he is not part of Rhulani’s plans.
The club is currently at its base in Chloorkop, preparing for its pre-season tour to Austria. But someone asked if what’s happening at the club is a movie and available on Netflix.
