(The Post News)- The inaugural National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and NEC Lekgotla of the African National Congress (ANC) since the national and provincial elections commenced on Thursday, August 1. This gathering will delve into the election outcomes, the organisation’s state, and future programmes, particularly in light of the party’s subpar performance in the previous elections.
According to ANC acting national spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi, “The primary objective of the ANC Lekgotla is to refine and consolidate action plans centred on our 2024 election manifesto’s six key priorities.” These priorities focus on driving inclusive growth, job creation, poverty reduction, addressing the high cost of living, and establishing a capable, ethical, and developmental state.
Godlimpi further emphasized that the ANC meeting and Lekgotla will provide comprehensive action plans to address the discussed issues, yielding clear directives for the organisation’s structures, government departments, and enhanced strategies for service delivery, governance, economic growth, and social development.
The meeting will be attended by representatives from provinces, cadre deployment, ministers, deputy ministers, premiers, and executive mayors. The ANC NEC Lekgotla is scheduled to conclude on August 6, 2024.
