Run For Those Who Can’t” campaign empowers disabled students with automatic wheelchairs, promoting independence and confidence.
(The Post News)- The “Run For Those Who Can’t” campaign has made a significant impact at Maluti TVET College’s Kwetlisong campus, providing two disabled students, Dineo Matee and Pule Malinga, with automatic wheelchairs. This initiative has restored their confidence, enabling them to navigate the campus freely and arrive on time.
According to Mazi Khambule, acting deputy principal, the wheelchairs will greatly improve the students’ mobility, eliminating the need for assistance. Matee, a health and disability officer, emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges faced by disabled students, ensuring their daily struggles are alleviated.
The campaign has not only provided wheelchairs but also raised awareness about disability support. Rosina Mofokeng, a beneficiary, expressed gratitude, stating that late arrivals will no longer be a concern.
The wheelchairs, valued at over R100,000, demonstrate the college’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. By promoting independence and confidence, Maluti TVET College is creating a supportive environment for all students.
