(The Post News)- Just a day after the postponement of the MTN-8 Cup semifinals on August, 27, 2024. It resumed a day after, where Stellenbosch FC was versus Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City hosting Orlando Pirates.
The encounters had high hopes of fans hoping for a step over, for the two Western Cape clubs. Unfortunately, the turn around was far beyond the expected results.
The Citizens drawn level with the Buccaneers to 1-1. Meanwhile Sundowns suffered from the Stellies to 1-nil.
Fans for Sundowns were all fumming and calling the current head coach after the departure of Rhulani Mokoena. On a post match fans called Manqoba Mnqithi as illiterate of the Sundowns and not doing anything but to hold his chick.
Stellenbosch showed arrogance for beating Sundowns 1-nil with a penalty. And Cape Town City taking Orlando Pirates for a draw to level 1-1.
The second leg for the semifinals is expected for both the Buccaneers and Citizens. The encounter shall play in Gauteng at the home for the both clubs qualifying for the final.
