A devastating incident of gun violence has left a family shattered, as EFF member Lebogang Mafa is brutally murdered in her own home, sparking outrage and demands for justice.
(The Post News)- Lebogang Mafa, a dedicated member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Tshwane, was tragically shot and killed in her own dining room on Sunday night. The horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving her family, friends, and comrades reeling in grief and outrage.
According to eyewitnesses, four suspects forcibly gained entry into Mafa’s residence, where she was sitting with her young son. One suspect remained outside, while another opened fire without uttering a word, shooting Mafa three times in her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving her son traumatized but unharmed.
The son’s courageous identification of the suspect, known to the family, has led to the arrest and court appearance of the alleged perpetrator. The suspect faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and housebreaking, with the matter postponed to December 4 for further investigation. Meanwhile, the remaining three suspects remain at large, evading justice.
Ward 90 councillor Queen Chauke expressed her deepest condolences to the Mafa family, condemning the heinous crime. “This senseless act of violence has left our community reeling. We demand justice for Lebogang Mafa and her family. The perpetrators must be brought to book and face the full might of the law.”
The EFF has also issued a statement, vowing to ensure that justice is served and that Mafa’s legacy continues to inspire the fight for freedom and equality. “Lebogang Mafa was a dedicated member of the EFF, and her brutal assassination will not be in vain. We will continue to fight for the rights of the marginalized and oppressed, even in the face of violence and intimidation.”
