(The Post News)- Ukraine launched a massive drone assault on the Moscow region, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in its wake. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, marked the largest drone incursion on the Russian capital to date, with at least 20 Ukrainian drones destroyed by Russian defenses.
The aerial onslaught resulted in the tragic loss of at least one life, with a woman succumbing to injuries sustained during the attack. Dozens of homes were left in ruins, while three of Moscow’s four airports were forced to close for over six hours, causing widespread disruption to air travel. Almost 50 flights were diverted, adding to the chaos.
Russian authorities reported that a total of 144 Ukrainian drones were neutralized across nine regions, including the Moscow area, which boasts a population of over 21 million. The sheer scale of the attack has raised concerns about the escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with many fearing the worst is yet to come.
As the dust settles on this latest escalation, one thing is clear: the conflict has entered a new and potentially dangerous phase, with both sides dug in and determined to assert their dominance. The international community holds its breath, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the crisis, but bracing for the worst.
