(The Post News)- On September 16th, the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) welcomed its newest members in a formal swearing-in ceremony led by Ms. Lindiwe Khumalo, Clerk of the Pan-African Parliament. The event, held at the PAP headquarters, marked a significant moment for the Continental Parliament as it continues to strengthen its representation of African citizens.

This induction is not just a formality but a testament to the growing influence and importance of the Pan-African Parliament in fostering unity and democracy across Africa. The PAP, established as an organ of the African Union (AU), aims to ensure the full participation of African peoples in the economic development and integration of the continent.
The new members, hailing from Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritania, Nigeria, and South Africa, were formally welcomed by the Chairperson of the Pan African Parliament, Chief Fortune Charumbira.
Among the inductees were prominent South African politicians Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane (ANC), Mdumiseni Ntuli (ANC), Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla (MK Party), and Vuyani Pambo (EFF), who have been deployed by their national legislatures to represent their countries at the Continental Parliament.
As they took their oaths, the new members pledged to uphold the principles of the Pan-African Parliament and to work tirelessly for the betterment of all African people. Their presence reinforces the PAP’s role as a beacon of hope for a continent that is rapidly transforming and asserting its place on the global stage.
