(The Post News)- Mamelodi Sundowns and Super Sport United played at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria. a derby to commemorate the start of the Premiership Soccer League for both teams. Masandawana struggled early on in the derby’s first half.
Super Sport United was unable to breach the Brazilian defense. Sundowns’ first-half dominance produced no results. With a scoreless tie, both teams went into the break, with Sundowns showing promise. Short-stopper Ricardo Goss thwarted the efforts of Lucas Ribeiro.
The Brazilians were assisted by subs in the second half; Marcus Allende, Tashreeq Matthews to Peter Shalulile, and Themba Zwane to Lebogang Maboe were all eliminated by Aubrey Modiba at 61′.
Mshishi assisted Inqram Rayners in scoring their first goal in the 62nd minute; Lucas Ribeiro took over at the 65th minute, and his short held a net to make it two goals to one. Sundowns is currently leading the PSL League standings.
