(The Post News)- In what many see as a possible six-pointer for the top of the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen gets ready to play Bayern Munich on Saturday night. Leverkusen’s remarkable accomplishment of winning the Meisterschale undefeated the previous season has already been undone when they lost 3-2 to RB Leipzig at home,To start the current campaign.
Conversely, Bayern Munich has had an excellent start to life under new head coach Vincent Kompany, displaying the best attacking and defensive records in the league.
They haven’t yet faced a strong foe, though, which begs the question of their actual title qualifications. Granit Xhaka acknowledged the difficulty of playing against a team of Bayern’s caliber in an interview with Sky Germany prior to the game.
Xhaka said, “This is an opponent from the Champions League.” “We are aware of Bayern’s immense potential and the fresh perspectives Kompany offers. They have a strong offensive and few goals allowed. We’re prepared for what promises to be an excellent game.”
Xhaka observed that the pressure they experienced was distinct. “If you become champions and cup winners, the pressure would be higher on us, but I feel we can handle it well,” he said. “A game in Munich against Bayern is always special, and we look forward to it.
Leverkusen’s goals were emphasized once more by him, saying, “We want to be at the top for as long as possible.” “One game at a time” is our slogan, and Bayern is our next target. Similar to last season, we wish to irritate them a little.” Leverkusen is determined and full of optimism to leave a lasting impression at the Allianz Arena.
