Tel Aviv Terror: Seven Lives Lost in Deadly Stabbing and Shooting Attack Amid Escalating Middle East Violence
(The Post News)- A devastating stabbing and shooting attack in Tel Aviv on Tuesday left seven people dead and 16 injured. The assault occurred near a light-rail stop, sending shockwaves through the city.
According to Israeli authorities, two perpetrators, Muhammad Masek, 19, and Ahmed Himoni, 25, both from Hebron, carried out the attack. Armed with an M16 rifle, cartridges, and a knife, they targeted passengers on a stopped railcar before continuing their rampage on foot toward Jerusalem Boulevard.
Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as the attackers opened fire and stabbed passersby. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, treating victims with moderate to serious injuries. Medics Omri Gorga and Noam Eliyof reported finding injured people inside and around the railcar, with four unconscious and appearing lifeless.
The victims included 33-year-old Inbar Segev, who shielded her nine-month-old baby with her body during the attack. Her husband, Yaari Vigdar, a reserve soldier fighting in Gaza, spoke emotionally about losing his wife.
Other victims identified were Revital Bronstein, 24, a computer science student; Shahar Goldman, 30, an international dancer; Ilya Nozadze, 42, a Georgian citizen; and Nadia Sokolenko, 40, a Moldovan immigrant.
The attack occurred hours before a large-scale missile strike from Iran, heightening regional tensions. Hamas had previously claimed responsibility for an August bombing in Tel Aviv, warning of further operations amid the ongoing Gaza conflict.
No group has claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s attack. Israeli authorities continue to investigate.
The assault has sparked widespread condemnation, with leaders urging calm and unity amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
