(The Post News)- Hugo Broos, the head coach of Bafana Bafana, has once again demonstrated his inability to tolerate any form of discipline within the team by leaving out a midfield player from Stellenbosch FC for his upcoming doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo this coming weekend.
The country has been informed that Adams and the rest of the team did not arrive in Gqeberha yesterday as scheduled. Despite the fact that his club teammate Fawaaz Basadien was there in camp, Adams did not report for duty in Gqeberha after playing for Stellies in Saturday’s MTN8 final loss to Orlando Pirates in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
“For what reason is Sinoxolo Kwayiba replacing Jayden Adams? I won’t go into too much detail about it, but Jayden’s actions made me decide to cut him from the team,” said Broos.
Adams’ predicament coincides with Bafana’s already thin midfield, as important players Siphephelo Sithole and Thalente Mbatha have been forced to retire from the team due to injuries. Adams, who was a member of the team that won the bronze medal at the AFCON earlier this year, must now get his mind in order, according to Broos.
“If a player has a decent professional mentality, it’s because they are pros. Therefore, if I sense that a guy lacks that approach, I’m done with them,” he added.
“Not only is he not a 16-year-old player, but if he continues to play with the attitude he did, the only thing I can do is remove him from the group because this is not what I want from players.
I’ve said multiple times in the last few months, what a group I have,” said the coach.
He emphasised that he was really pleased with the group, they had the ideal mindset, appropriate conduct, professionalism, and all you could ask for.
Also highlighted “So, I can’t afford to let someone in that doesn’t have that attitude anymore, so it’s up to Jayden now to think about it, on what he’s going to do with his future.”
Bathusi Aubusson is another substitution, taking over for Thalente Mbatha, who was forced to leave the MTN8 Final on Saturday match due to an injury.
