
Ghanaian captain, Thomas Partley withdraws from the the national team due to a medical issue
(The Post News)- Arsenal has sent the it’s midfield player Thomas Partley for medical examinations. The severity of his injuries is to be confirm in the upcoming days.
Thomas Partey seems certain to add his name to the lengthy list of injured players on Arteta’s team, adding to Arsenal’s ongoing nightmare of injuries. Due to his forced withdrawal from the Ghana national team, the midfielder will be absent from Thursday’s and Monday’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Sudan. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) made the announcement on Tuesday through a formal statement.
“Thomas Partey, Joseph Painstil, Kingsley Schindler, and Osman Ibrahim have been ruled out of the 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan due to injuries they picked up over the weekend,” the announcement stated.
Coach Otto Addo originally had 25 players in his team for the double header, including the four players. Because of his present medical problems, Thomas is unable to play for the Black Stars. His club has arranged additional testing for him in the upcoming days.
The 31-year-old has started every game for Arteta this season, and despite being mostly a midfielder, he was forced to play right-back in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Southampton. His injury history includes Odegaard, White, Timber, Zinchenko, Tierney, and, most recently, Kai Havertz, who was forced to withdraw from the German national squad due to a knee injury.
The Arsenal medical team will analyze Partey in the following days through examinations to ascertain the degree of his injuries. Arsenal return to Premier League play on October 19th, facing Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
