(The Post News)- The Dstv hosted a Content creators awards at Nelson Mandela Square, which was the third annual to be hosted , The glamorous evening honoured local digital content creators who have made a name for themselves.
With Anele Mdoda as the MC, the event was filled with laughter and energy, featuring standout performances by Bontle Modiselle Dance Studio, Mandisi, Nina Hastie, and more.”DStv, Africa’s largest storyteller, is thrilled to honour exceptional digital talent through these awards,” said Charis Coleman, Head of Digital Content at MultiChoice South Africa. “We celebrate creativity that shapes the future of content and shares Africa’s stories globally.”
The DStv Content Creator Awards 2024 honoured outstanding creators across various categories such as : Social Impact, Content Creation, Entertainment, Lifestyle, special awards and Top honour .
Some of the winners were : Cause Award: Bella Monsoon (The Fight Against GBV) – R10,000, Thumb-stopping Award: The Black Wendy, Emerging Creator Award: Grace Mondlana, Storyteller Award: Josh Wide Awake (Inside South Africa’s Most Dangerous Neighbourhood), Social Commentary Award: Darren Campher.
Song of the Year (powered by 947): Tyla – Water, Trendsetter Award: Coachella Randy, Podcast of the Year: African Story Magic with Gcina Mhlophe, Comedy: Mark Angel , Travel & Lifestyle Award: Chris Rogers (R10,000 LIFT Wallet), Gaming Creator of the Year: Beamerboy TV , Foodie Award: Sifo The Cooking Husband ,Beauty Award: Colour Me Simpiwe Pan-African Creator Award: Mark Angel , Best Event After Movie Award: Rage Festival by G&G Productions and the Content Creator of the Year Award: Sifo The Cooking Husband (R20,000).

Eighteen local creators were acknowledged for their exceptional work, receiving a customised trophy by Shaun Oakley and a valuable prize package of R7,000.
