(The Post News)- The multimillion-pound ambassador deal between Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United has reportedly been terminated, according to reports in England from Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s company INEOS.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s multimillion-pound contract has been terminated by Manchester United’s part-owners, INEOS. Over his 26 seasons as manager of the Red Devils, the 82-year-old brought 38 championships to Old Trafford.
After Ferguson opted to stop coaching in 2013, he became a global representative for the Manchester United team. However, The Athletic claims that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s business has made the decision to sever the former manager’s ties to the team.
According to reports, Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Jim Ratcliffe met this week to discuss ways to cut the club’s expenses. They decided at that meeting that Manchester United would not give him any more money after this season, ending his multi-million-pound deal.
It is said that the meeting was friendly, meaning that both sides made the same decision. Jim Ratcliffe and Ferguson are on good terms, and Ferguson will continue to serve as the club’s non-executive director.
