(The Post News)- Limpopo Education MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, delivered a rousing message of unity, resilience, and accountability to the metric class of 2024 during a pledge signing ceremony at Mookgophong Primary School. The event, aimed at motivating learners ahead of their final exams, emphasized education as a transformative tool for both personal and societal development.
Addressing learners, educators, and dignitaries, Lerule-Ramakhanya recognized the pivotal role of teachers in shaping future leaders. “You are the unsung heroes who have poured your time, energy, and wisdom into guiding these young minds,” she said. The MEC also thanked parents, school administrators, and community members for their consistent support, stressing that success in education requires a collective effort.
The ceremony’s central focus was the signing of a pledge, which the MEC described as more than a symbolic act. “This pledge is not just a formality; it represents our shared determination to strive for excellence,” she said. Lerule-Ramakhanya urged learners to approach their upcoming exams with the same drive and focus they had shown throughout their schooling, seeing the tests as an opportunity to demonstrate their growth and resolve.
Quoting Nelson Mandela, she reminded the audience of education’s power to break barriers: “Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, and the son of a mine worker can become the head of a mine.” She challenged the learners to take their education seriously, knowing it would determine their future paths.
The class of 2024, hailed as the event’s VVIPs, signed the pledge with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to tackle their final academic hurdle.
