(The Post News)- The Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube, and Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane visited Soshanguve East Secondary School in Tshwane today to monitor the launch of 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams. Soshanguve East, known for its focus on information and communications technology (ICT), is regarded as a model institution in the Gauteng province, where technology-enhanced learning has been at the forefront of its educational strategy.
During the visit, the officials engaged with school leadership and learners, observing the start of the examination process. School principal Riba Mmabatho highlighted the school’s efforts to ensure optimal exam preparedness. ” The teachers have worked tirelessly, and I’m confident that we’ll reach a 100% pass rate. We’ve had various support programs to help all learners perform to the best of their abilities,” she said.
Learners also expressed a mix of confidence and determination as they prepared for the exams. Thabo Ndlovu, a student pursuing commercial studies, said, “I feel confident about the exams because I’ve put in extra effort, and the school has been very supportive.”
Surprise Mathebula also stated that “The journey has been tough, but I’m ready. The teachers have played a big role in helping us prepare for the exams.”
