Floyd Shivambu says his decision to leave the EFF and join the MK Party was the best one; however, Naledi Chirwa feels like the decision was made out of jealousy.
(The Post News)- The EFF National Council of Provinces delegate, Naledi Chirwa, criticized the former EFF deputy president, now the national organizer of the MK party (MKP), Floyd Shivambu, for being jealous.Â
This follows the recent interview on the Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh Xperience (SMWX) podcast where Shivanbu was claiming most of the EFF leaders were aware of his move to the MKP. He also claimed it was he who had “conceptualized” the party.
On the podcast, Shivambu revealed the important role he played in the founding of the EFF. He claimed that he was the one who came up with the organization’s name (EFF), the founding manifesto, the seven cardinal pillars, the commander in chief (CIC), and all of its important documents.
In response to Shivambu’s claims, Chirwa stated that Shivambu’s actions have taught them to never befriend individuals who envy them. “We are not sad about losing him. He saved us from himself,” said Chirwa.
Meanwhile, Swizwe Dhlomo, a media personality and businessman said the departure of Shivambu to join the MKP has significantly hurt a lot of the EFF members. Dhlomo stated that the EFF’s strong reactions demonstrate the depth of pain Shivambu’s resignation has created within the party. additionally, Dhlomo further sated that the EEF may not be ready to accept the impact of Shivambu’s depature, stating that what Shivambu did to the EFF is similar to what former president Jacob Zuma did to the African National Congress (ANC).
Meanwhile, the ANC veteran and former EFF MP Busisiwe Mkhwebane were unveiled as new members of the MKP. They immediately take up the reins as KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga conveners, respectively. Mchunu, a long-time ally of Zuma and former KwaZulu-Natal premier, resigned his ANC membership recently.
