
(The Post News)- The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued life-threatening weather warnings for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and the Eastern Cape, effective Monday and Tuesday, November 4–5, 2024.

A Yellow Level 4 warning has been issued for KZN to indicate that life-threatening thunderstorms may result in a trail of distraction in infrastructure, settlements, and serious traffic disturbance in the southern and cardinal regions. Meanwhile, the SAWS warned of disruptive snow in the Eastern Cape starting out Monday, with snowfall expected in high-lying regions due to a high pressure system.
The districts of Chris Hani and Joe Gqabi will be affected, as well as the local townships of Beyers Naude, Blue Crain Route, Matatiele, Uzimvubu, and Raymond Mhlaba. Heatwave conditions have the potential to remain throughout the central and eastern sections of the North-West Province and Free State, as well as the northern areas of KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo.
Extremely high fire and dangerous conditions are estimated across central and eastern Northern Cape, eastern North West, the Free State, Gauteng, and areas of Limpopo‘s Western Bushveld. On Tuesday, a Yellow Level 4 word of advice was issued for troubled rainfall, which could cause flooding of settlements, roads, and property impairment in eastern areas of the Eastern Cape.
A Yellow Level 1 word of advice has been written out for disruptive rainfall in coastal and nearby interior areas.
The Western Cape will experience cloudy and cold weather, with isolated showers and rain. The Eastern Cape on the other side will be cloudy and chilly, with scattered showers and rainwater, while KwaZulu-Natal will have morning fog patches and be partly cloudy, with isolated showers and thundershowers.
