(The Post News)- Police have apprehended two individuals in relation to the theft and abduction of a German visitor in Graskop, Mpumalanga, on Monday, November 4, 2024. As per authorities, the pair reportedly assaulted a German male visitor soon after he took out money from an ATM at a gas station in the vicinity.

An alarmed individual notified the authorities, leading to a rapid response from law enforcement. Police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli stated that the details given to law enforcement indicated that the individuals were driving a Hyundai SUV. He stated that the men and women were featured in the secure holiday operation and quickly reacted to the information, identifying and halting the vehicle.
Mdhluli mentioned that the suspects were trapped and apprehended in bushes close by. The visitor was saved alive despite suffering injuries in the incident. According to the police, additional charges against the suspects could be filed, as the vehicle they were traveling in is allegedly involved in other unlawful activities. The ongoing investigation of this incident is being pursued by the SAPS, who will persist in their efforts to ensure justice is served.

Mudhluli expressed contentment with the result, particularly considering the tragic event with a German tourist who was regrettably killed in October 2022.
