(The Post News)- More than half of states have closed their polls, and voters wait to know if Donald Trump or Kamala Harris will win the 2024 presidential election, as millions of Americans went to the polls to decide their next trustworthy leader.
Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump both need a total of at least 270 electoral votes to win. The states of Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania are expected to be of crucial importance on the route to victory. Trump appears to stand a chance of winning the presidency, as he is set to win the two sates of Georgia and North Carolina. However, Harris could still swoop in, and if she wins Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, she could reign victorious.
Both competitors have a tie with three votes each in the small New Hampshire community of Dixville Notch, which opened and closed its voting poll just after midnight. Republican Donald Trump has won 23 states so far, including Montana, Texas, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, and others, while Democrat Kamala Harris has only won 12 seats as early polling has begun. The counting is still underway in the remaining regions.
At 78, Trump would be the first oldest president to be inaugurated and the first convicted felon to be president. On the other hand, Kamala Harris, 60, would also be only the second Black, following former president Barack Obama, and the first person of South Asian descent to be president. All eyes are on Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, the five remaining states vying for a maximum of 270 votes in the electoral race.Harris vs. Trump: Who is the next president?
