(The Post News)- Head coach Hugo Broos has announced his squad for the final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with a few players returning to the team.
Currently in second place on the group K standings, Bafana Bafana will play South Sudan in their final qualifier in Cape Town four days later after missing all the qualifiers. Bafana Bafana are scheduled to play Uganda and South Sudan in their final two group K qualifiers; they need three more points to secure a spot at the competition, which will be held in Morocco.
After missing out on the previous qualifiers, Mihlali Mayambela has also rejoined the team. However, Percy Tau, who was in the preliminary squad, still does not have a spot on the team. Bafana Bafana won’t sustain any injuries. For the next two games, Themba Zwane and Broos will need to locate a player who can serve as the team’s creative spark. Due to Lyle Foster’s injury, Makgopa will have a chance to establish himself right away.
Squad:
Oswin Appollis, Relebohile Mofokeng, Elias Mokwana, Iqraam Rayners, Thapelo Morena, Patrick Maswanganyi, Mihlali Mayambela, and Evidence Makgopa are the forwards. Luke le Roux, Thalente Mbatha, Bathusi Aubass, and Teboho Mokoena are midfielders. Siyabonga Ngezana, Khuliso Mudau, Mothobi Mvala, Aubrey Modiba, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Rushwin Dortley, Fawaaz Basadien, and Sydney Mobie are the defenders.
