(The Post News)- South African Football Association President Danny Jordan was detained on suspicion of fraud and misappropriation of R1.3 million. He has been charged with embezzlement and fraud in the federation.Â

Â
The administrator has struggled to redeem his name and is running for a fourth term as president of the South African Football Federation. To find evidence against the seasoned administrator, Hawks officers searched Safa’s office in March.Â
Â
Â
Jordaan is accused of using the federation’s resources for his benefit between 2014 and 2018. This involved employing public relations and private security firms to keep him safe, all without the board’s consent. News24 reported that South African Football Association (SAFA) president Danny Jordaan has been arrested and charged with fraud after allegedly spending R1.3 million of the association’s money for his benefit.
Â
According to News24 Jordaan and his two co-accused, SAFA chief financial officer Gronie Hluyo and journalist-turned-businessman Trevor Neethling, were scheduled to appear in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Palm Ridge on Wednesday.
Hawks seized documents, external hard drives, USBs, and a laptop during the five-hour raid to gather concrete proof against Jordaan. To gain a chance to prolong his rule in Mzansi football, the Safa head wants to elevate his name.
