(The Post News)- Renowned actor Denzel Washington has announced that he will be a part of the upcoming Marvels Black Panther 3.
Speaking on the Today Show Australia, Washington revealed that a part for him on the next movie sequel is currently being worked on, in what seems to be a lead up to his final acting roles before taking his final bow infront of the camera.
“Film maker Ryan Coogler is writing a character for me to play in the next sequel of the Black Panther and after that, I’m going to do the film Othello followed by King Lear”,he said
While Marvel has not made an official announcement on the return of the movie, Washington’s comments sparked public confirmation of a third return of the Black Panther film, following the 2018 first release and its 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
A third return of the Black Panther would be the second film without the movie’s original first lead , Chadwick Boseman, who sadly passed away in 2020 due to colon cancer complications.
Boseman, who played the leading T’Challa once gave unwavering credit to Washington for helping him attend acting school, stating, “There is no Black Panther without Denzel Washington.”
In 2019, the late Black Panther actor paid tribute to the 69 year old saying, “all battles won, a thousand territories gained, and many sacrifices you made for the culture on film sets through your career lay the blueprints for us to follow.”
Meanwhile, the two-time Academy award winner is set to return to theatres with Gladiator 2, which is set to premiere in theatres on November 22nd.
With two Oscars to his name, Denzel Washington is one of the most established actors and film producers, the actor has starred in more than 30 movies across in his more than four-decade career, including all three sequences of “The equalizer”,thus dropping a hint of a retirement soon.
