Lamine Yamal and his younger brother.
(The Post News)- Lamine Yamal and the United International Children’s Emergency Foundation (UNICEF) took to Instagram to announce Yamal’s appointment as the new ambassador for UNICEF. The announcement was made on Children’s Rights Day, which was on November 20, through a post that displayed Yamal reading a letter to his younger brother. This was to outline the fundamental rights of children across the globe and also raise awareness of International Children’s Rights Day.
Reading the letter that was aimed at addressing children from all over the world, Yamal said that all children have rights that are there to ensure that they are protected, and they live a happy and healthy life. In the letter, Yamal emphasized the importance of “the right to play,” questioning if children are aware of this right and appreciating how lucky he was to have had opportunities to play as a child. He added that even now, he still has opportunities to play.
Yamal said that stepping into the field feels the same way as it did when he was a child who loved playing ball. Additionally, Yamal asserted that playing allows children to grow up happily and further emphasized the importance of playing for fun regardless of who you might be playing with. The letter concluded by stating that children are the future, and they should always remember to “have fun and be joyful.”
