(The Post News)- Wales plan to finish the year in glory as they face the mighty Springboks. There is much pressure on Wales’ coach, as if the Springboks beat them, it will mean they will finish the year without winning any test matches after their 52-20 loss against Australia. This hasn’t happened in the last 143 years of rugby international union history.
The head coach of Wales, Warren Gatland, is under immense pressure for victory, as this would mean that a defeat will be the end of his coaching career for the Wales side. He has been at the helm since 2022, after he returned as the head coach. This is his second time in charge of the team, from 2008 until 2019, with victories including finishing in the semifinals for Wales in the World Cup and winning the titles of the Six Nations champions four times.
The team has made some changes in their clash against the World Cup Champions, the Springboks. Costelow will replace Gareth Anscombe, injured Adam Beard will be replaced by Tshiuza, and Aaron Wainwright will be replaced by Plumtree. Wales’ coach said he has told the union to be bold, which would be in the best interest of the Welsh rugby side.
Meanwhile, the Springboks aim to finish the year with glory. Boks’ coach Erasmus believes that the team should go all out, as it would be a mistake for them to undermine their opponents. South Africa has only lost four times in a row to Wales, with more than five wins in their previous 11 test matches. The Boks aim for glory.
The team will see another set of brothers, Jaden and Jordan Hendrikse, who have been teaming up to play at halfback for this clash against Wales. This will be the second cap for Jordan after he was introduced to the Boks team at Twickenham in June. Rassie Erasmus has encouraged his side to finish the year on a positive note.
There is immense pressure between the two sides, as the Wales coach is under stress to win the match, while the World Cup champions have to prove why they have won it two times in a row.
