(The Post News)- Mohamed Salah’s brace in the second half at St. Mary’s put Arne Slot’s team eight points ahead of second-place Manchester City. Dominik Szoboszlai’s early goal gave Liverpool the lead, but Adam Armstrong’s equalizer rocked them back, and Mateus Fernandes gave bottom-place Southampton the lead in the second half.
Salah saved Liverpool with a characteristically predatory equalizer and a coolly executed penalty in the closing minutes, as he has so frequently done in the past. The Reds Devils took advantage of City’s miserable 4-0 loss to Tottenham 24 hours prior with their tenth victory in 12 league games.
