Former talk show host Wendy Williams’ health has severely declined amid her ongoing battle with dementia and aphasia, according to her guardian.
(The Post News)- In a recent legal document, attorneys representing Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, disclosed that the 60-year-old has become cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and incapacitated. Williams has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia, as stated in a letter dated November 12.
In a revised complaint from September, Morrissey alleged that the defendants exploited Williams in an exceptionally cruel and unethical manner for their own financial benefit. This situation stems from the calculated and intentional actions of influential media corporations collaborating with a producer to take advantage of Williams.
The announcement follows the declaration made by Williams’ representatives in February regarding her diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in 2023. At that time, they indicated that Williams was “capable of managing many tasks independently” and actively participated in the process of choosing her care team.
The latest information regarding Williams’ health is released in the context of Morrissey’s continuing legal dispute with A&E Television Networks, Lifetime Entertainment, and other associated parties related to the airing of Where Is Wendy Williams?, a docuseries that explores the television personality’s guardianship, health issues, and her life following The Wendy Williams Show.
Morrissey sought to prevent the release of the documentary, expressing worries regarding Williams’ health and privacy. Nevertheless, an appellate judge ruled in favour of Lifetime, contending that obstructing the documentary would constitute an “impermissible prior restraint on speech,” thereby infringing upon the First Amendment rights.
