It End With Us co-stars are still caught in a vigorous feud- mirror.co.uk
(The Post News)– “Grab your friends, wear your florals,” words used by Lively to promote the infamous It Ends With Us film.
It Ends With Us is a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book, a romance novel released in 2016 that handles various themes. With domestic violence being the main one, it was a huge success, and as with many such novels, the urge to turn it into a movie script was irresistible.
The film premiered back in August, and loyal fans soon realized everything was not all floral. Justin Baldoni directed the film and starred in it as Ryle Kincaid alongside Blake Lively, who played the role of Lilly Bloom. While the movie was the most talked about, not everything was positive feedback.
Not long after it was released, Lively felt “fat shamed” by her co-star, Baldoni. This remark stems from a scene where Baldoni is supposed to pick Lively up. However, it is important to note that Baldoni has a history of back problems. Before shooting the scene, he asked the on-site trainer how much Lively weighed. This left the actress feeling fat-shamed as she gave birth just four months prior. This caused quite a stir, with many jumping to defend Baldoni, while others sympathized with Lively.
Apart from this unfortunate incident, Lively said she felt uncomfortable during some of the kissing scenes. In her opinion, she felt as if Baldoni lingered just too long for it to become uncomfortable. It is a new day and a new beginning. Not entirely. It has just come to light that Lively filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni.
She filed the complaint on the 20th of December. She stated that Baldoni created a hostile workplace on the movie’s set. The complaint follows after Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath allegedly showed nude videos and images of women to Lively, among others, on the set.
Lively said it reached a point where she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, held a meeting to address these problems. In a statement to TODAY.com, Lively expressed her hope that her legal action will help to lift the veil on these dangerous retaliation tactics used to damage people who speak out about misconduct and safeguard others who may be attacked. The irony between Lively’s most recent words and the context of It Ends With Us is unmistakable. The question remains: with whom will it end?
