(The Post News)– Barcelona was denied the right to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Victor to La Liga as a result of the precautionary measure that the Superior Sports Council gave them for Olmo and Victor’s registration. The president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, said that the employers’ association opposes the verdict and is attempting to have it overturned.
Tebas reaffirmed on Monday that he is still against midfielder Dani Olmo’s registration as an FC Barcelona player and that he is still trying to have this decision overturned. “We oppose his registration and are submitting the appropriate appeals, requesting that he must not be allowed to be registered. Before the Madrid Sports Press Association (APDM) gala, which is taking place in the Spanish capital on Monday,” he stated.
He further mentioned that they believe that there is a possibility that he should not continue to be registered if they thought that he should not be registered. “There is no way to contest the match in the realm of sports law when you have a license, as Dani Olmo now does, even though we might be correct in the appeals,” he said.
Barcelona’s urgent preventive measure for players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor was upheld by the Superior Sports Council (CSD) on January 8th, provisionally until the appeal is definitively resolved. This decision revoked the sports licenses of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor and suspended the Monitoring Committee’s agreement of the RFEF-La Liga Coordination Agreement of January 4. La Liga declared their appeal to the regular courts two days later. Due to an overworked soleus muscle in his right leg, the player is currently unable to play.
