(The Post News)– Rapper ASAP Rocky is currently on trial for allegedly shooting at his former friend and fellow ASAP Mob member, ASAP Relli. In a dramatic turn of events, text messages exchanged between the two were revealed in court, showing Rocky denying the allegations and calling Relli a liar.
According to the text messages, Relli claimed that the alleged shooting was captured on video and would be used as evidence against Rocky. However, Rocky responded by accusing Relli of trying to extort him and calling him a “weirdo.” Rocky also encouraged Relli to contact the police if he honestly believed he had been shot at.
The text messages were revealed in court as part of Rocky’s assault trial, with Relli testifying against him for a second day. Relli described the alleged incident in vivid detail, claiming that Rocky pulled a gun on him during a heated dispute and fired, grazing his knuckles with the bullet. Relli stood his ground, challenging Rocky, saying, “You better use that sh*t; what the f*ck you got a gun for?”
Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, has supported that his client was holding a “starter pistol” prop gun at the time of the incident, which could not fire real bullets. Rocky has rejected a plea deal that would have required him to serve 180 days in jail and undergo three years of probation. If found guilty, Rocky will be imprisoned for about 24 years.
According to The Blast, Rocky’s legal team, headed by Joe Tacopina, verified the denial, claiming that taking the plea would ruin his fashion and music careers. According to a source close to the rapper, he would lose out on lucrative endorsement deals with well-known companies like Gucci and Puma as well as be unable to tour if he were given such a term.
Rihanna, Rocky’s partner, was present in court to show her support, sitting alongside Rocky’s mother and sister. The trial is ongoing, with Rocky maintaining his innocence and denying all allegations against him.
