(The Post News)– The Bulls have given fans an update on the injuries of club captains Ruan Nortje and Elrigh Louw, as well as star fly-half Johan Goosen.
Nortje, the 26-year-old Springboks lock, sustained a knee ligament injury during the Bulls’ clash with the Lions in Johannesburg on January 25. He has already begun a non-invasive recovery plan, with an expected rehabilitation timeline of 8 to 10 weeks.
Goosen, who claimed the 2022/23 URC Golden Boot, also faced knee surgery and is progressing well through his rehab. Like Nortje, his recovery will take around 8 to 10 weeks, with two weeks already completed successfully. Both players are aiming for a return in April, with the Bulls’ upcoming EPCR Challenge Cup match against Bayonne as a likely target. A potential quarter-final clash awaits if the team progresses.
Meanwhile, Louw, who suffered a long-term injury early in the second half of the same match, has not yet had surgery due to swelling. His operation is scheduled in the coming weeks, and his rehab plan will be clearer once the procedure is completed. The Bulls have wished all three players a smooth recovery, affirming that no further updates will be shared for now to allow them to focus on their rehabilitation.
