From chart-topping anthems to first-round exits, LMFAO’s Redfoo is on a different kind of stage. Image: The Sun.
(The Post News)– Remember LMFAO? The duo behind Party Rock Anthem and Sexy and I Know It dominated the early 2010s, racking up gold records and viral fame. But while the music faded, one-half of the group, Redfoo—real name Stefan Gordy—has re-emerged in a rather unexpected place: a professional tennis court.
Redfoo, son of Motown legend Berry Gordy, recently attempted a professional tennis debut at the ITF M15 Sharm El Sheikh tournament in Egypt. It didn’t exactly go to plan. Playing under his given name, the 48-year-old faced Norway’s Leyton Rivera in the main draw and suffered a swift 6–1, 6–0 defeat.
This isn’t Redfoo’s first brush with tennis. A long-time enthusiast of the sport, he once dated two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka and even tried (unsuccessfully) to qualify for the U.S. Open in 2013. While his music career saw him storm the charts, his tennis career has had a rocky start—but hey, it’s never too late to chase a new dream.
